"Well, I vote for Jennifer for Queen of Art World Funding - at least in Southeast Asia / Australia if not the world! And Gary as one of your research assistants - and all the water and bottles and other samples bodily and otherwise you need to set up an alternative art market for stimulating things!
And Gary - any ideas on how to link our discussions 'here' and 'there'? Good night all, good morning in your time,
Astri"
Why thank you Astri!
Despite all the years of Ph D grind, the conceptual artist and arts administrator in me does escape from time to time!
Re interpretations of Tisna's poster I was also tempted to proceed from Jamu sellers to politicians and their policies. Which water would you choose heading into an election?
Re scientific involvement: because we excrete copious amounts of sweat and substances including pollutants through the feet and sandaled feet are also exposed to everything they walk through, the suggestion of scientific involvement does seem logical. And Bandung is supposed to be one of the dirtiest Indonesian cities.....
Maybe we should expand our idea of the market, which, in different contexts, such as the research context, may mean different things.
But for Tisna right now, the most important is success at his exhibition.
I hope lots of people like his Jamu!
Gary - re linking, Through Lycos I was alerted to new postings on artinesia & javafred.net, but these do not appear through my Murdoch email. Perhaps I had an angel on my side for a while there?
I've had a look at the format for linking within the artinesia site and must say it seems very schematic. Its still best to spend time visiting one's own page, checking for replies and then visiting the active threads and discussions - and the wider list!
But it is early days yet and we are all learning together how to manage the site.
cheers, Jennifer
