Did you just arrive from the Yahoo group? What do you think of this venue? Let me know if you have any questions.
Salam, Gary (javafred)

Hi Gary - I have just sent both you and Astri friend messages.
Did you get them?
Query - Should I have put my Yahoo <djennifer43> address rather than my <delandeysj @lycos.com> one. Both seem to be current and working.
I'm happy to change.
Let us hope Werner makes it into this room, as it certainly seems he will be our first Discussion Forum leader.
cheers,
Jennifer

PS: gary, another question
Re instructions for posting phone numbers.
How do we keep this site private so we can do this.
My phone kept ringing this am, so i had to unplug it.
I think I am sick to death of Joe Student!
Advice please.

Hi Jennifer, Yes I got your messages. Your Lycos e-mail is fine as is. Concerning privacy, you don't have to put in your phone number, or other stuff either for that matter. I'll write a general message to the Yahoo group a bit later and cover the issue of privacy, who can access this site etc. Ok? Do you find this valuable?

Hi Gary, Jennifer and all who drop by!
I like how we can read everyone's contributions in a single stream, creates for a bit more 'flow' and continuity that way, and with the pics, it's a bit more like sitting around in the same warung or cafe.
Now - where IS everybody?
(Rubbing her hands together, wondering if she wants nasi goreng, rujak or cappucino).
One question: Gary, where in this e-world, here, would pictures the whole group can see be possible? - is it possible to include pics with these messages, somehow? I don't see such a function but am often 'web-blind'.

Hi Astri,
Yes, I like the flow too sitting around in the warung. Now to your question where the heck IS everybody, good question. Have my Y-group e-mails about this site/idea been in any way pushy, obnoxious, not helpful... pls tell me up front if there is some way I can correct the approach.
To your Q's: pictures the whole group are on pages that we create, put not here is Discussion thread. I'll put a page and till you how I did it. Ok?
Well you're problably offline this weekend, but anyway have a lovely weekend and c u on Monday.

Hi Gary, Astri and whoever else has just joined -
Its more like we've set up camp in this particular warung given the time differences. But it does feel comfy. i guess that's why I cooked nasi goreng for breakfast - and ate the rest for lunch, after the telor had arrived from market! Thanks for the clarification re phone no's and Yahoo address, which I realise is <djennifer23>!
I think your correspondence about artinesia-javafred on javafred@yahoogroups has been very good. Members just have to take that courageous step!
It is the weekend and that's usually when people have time to experiment with web stuff. I look forward to greeting new visitors to this camp and to using the image pages you set up.
cheers, Jennifer

PS: Still haven't found my lovely portrait photos, but it will happen

Dear Gary and Jennifer,
Nice to meet you here in our warung... the smell of your nasi goreng is delicious, Jennifer! Cool that we are actually all three online at the same time here, it seems! (SOMEONE's up way too late! - oh, and Europe and America as you know, jennifer, are also very different time zones -- Western Canada is 15 hrs to Java or so, Europe a mere - 6 hrs or so).

Now - why is this excellent warung not more popular - some guesses:
1. there are only a few keeners out there;
2. leadership is not for everyone (Werner, would you rather not initiate the discussion, but participate if someone else puts it out there? Ah - I forget I am speaking into the near void here);
3. masalah bahasa - dilemma besar itu. Other sites are in Indonesian, mostly, and Javafred is in English, i.e. serving different constituencies with some overlaps.
4. how the current world situation makes cari rejeki/putting food onto the table a heavier workload than ever before.
5. nobody loves us or even wants to talk with us.

And we know that trying to do a survey won't work! HAHAHAHA!
Lightness to you both,
Astri
